Ellen Frances Moore Whitesell

GREENSBORO — Ellen Frances Moore Whitesell , 80, formerly of Steele St. in Gibsonville, passed away Friday April 7, 2006 at Carolina Commons following a lengthy illness.

She was the wife of the late James Harvey Whitesell and the daughter of the late Mallie R. "M.R." and Betty Sue Alcon Moore .

Frances was a member of the First Baptist Church in Gibsonville and the Fidelis Sunday School Class and volunteered with Meals on Wheels for many years.

Survivors include her daughter Ellen Coll and her husband Vincent of Greensboro; a son Butch Whitesell and his wife Betty of Taylorsville, N.C.; grandchildren Jamie Coll, Meredith Coll, Tony Whitesell and his wife Christa, Rod Whitesell , Kelly Whitesell ; a sister Jane Bordeaux and her husband Bobby of Raleigh; brothers William Moore and his wife Lucy of Gibsonville, Ronnie Moore and his wife Mary of Elon, Robert Moore and his wife Peggy of Burlington, and Bobby Gerald Moore and his wife Glenda of Altamahaw.

She was preceded in death by a son, Steven Lynn Whitesell ; a sister, Jean Hawkins; and brothers Jimmy Moore and Harold Dean Moore .

The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at the First Baptist Church of Gibsonville by Rev. Brian Ayers. Interment will follow in Gibsonville City Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 7-8:30 p.m. today at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc.
