STATESVILLE — Mr. S. Thomas Greene, Jr. of 165 N. Field Rd. died on Tuesday March 11, 2003, at his home.
He was born in Alamance County, son of the late S. Thomas Greene, Sr. and the late Nana Louise Greene and was married to the late Betty Lou Bean Greene.
He was a U.S. Navy veteran of WWII.
He is survived by his children, Pam Huffines and her husband, Jimmy of Burlington, Teri Matkins of Burlington, Patti Brightman and Cindy Greene, both of Indiana and Michael Greene of Graham; stepchildren, Alana Roane of Burlington and Lance Freed of Los Angeles, CA; 10 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; stepmother, Blanche Greene of Burlington; brother, William Greene of Sebastian, FL and sister, Penny Pregg of Miami, FL.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Olin Tatum.
The family will receive friends Friday evening and other times at the home of Pam and Jimmy Huffines, 1810 Gerringer Mill Rd. Burlington.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in honor of his grandson, Justin Matkins, to Camp Green Leaves c/o Beverly Melton, Burlington Parks & Recreation, 1333 Overbrook Rd., Burlington, NC 27215.3, Mr. S. Thomas Greene Jr.
