Mrs. Mary Whitesell King

BURLINGTON — Mrs. Mary Whitesell King, 75, of 1244 Whitesell Farm Lane, died Thursday, March 29, 2001, at Alamance Regional Medical Center.
A native of Alamance County, she was the wife of the late Mr. Robert King, and the daughter of Mr. Robert F. Whitesell and Mrs. Dora McPherson Whitesell, both deceased. She was retired from AT&T and was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America. She was a lifelong member of St. Mark’s Reformed Church and was a former Sunday school teacher for more than 30 years. She was a former Consistory member and was a member of the Active Circle No. 2.

Survivors include three sisters, Mrs. Sam (Nancy) Finley and Mrs. Jerry (Joan) Barbee, both of Burlington, and Mrs. Bob (Eloise) McPherson of Snow Camp; and a brother, Mr. Larry W. Whitesell of Burlington. She was preceded in death by four brothers, Mr. Jacob Whitesell, Mr. Robert Whitesell, Mr. Carroll Whitesell and Mr. Franklin D. Whitesell.
The funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday at St. Mark’s Reformed Church by the Rev. Robert M. Disher Jr., senior pastor, and the Rev. Ben Bishop, associate pastor.
The body will be placed inthe church 30 minutes before the service. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
The family will be at Rich and Thompson Mortuary in Burlington from 6 to 8 this evening. Memorials may be made to St. Mark’s Reformed Church, 1230 St. Mark’s Church Road, Burlington, N.C. 27215 or to a charity of choice.3, Mrs. Mary Whitesell King
