Ms. Lavon Crisp Whitesell
GRAHAM — Ms. Lavon Crisp Whitesell, 65, of 422 Judge Sharpe Road, died Tuesday,
March 7, 2000, at her home after an illness of five years.
A native of Gaston County, she was the daughter of Mr. John Howard Crisp and Mrs.
Olivia Rabb Crisp, both deceased. She was a retired secretary with the University of North
Carolina at Chapel Hill and was a member of Glen Hope Baptist Church.
Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Hollis W. (Cindy) Jones of Easton, Pa.; Miss
Anne E. Whitesell of Graham and Mrs. Arvin (Karen) Lambe of Graham; a son, Mr.
Tommy F. Whitesell of Burlington; two sisters, Ms. Carolyn C. Gaylor of St. Petersburg,
Fla, and Mrs. Gil (Janet) Soares of Mebane; and three grandchildren.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday at Glen Hope Baptist Church by the Rev.
Ron Smith and the Rev. Bob Stephenson, pastors. The body will be placed in the church
30 minutes before the service. Burial will be in Graham Memorial Park.
The family will be at Lowe Funeral Home from 6 to 8 this evening, and at other times at
the home.
