Mrs. Sallie Lee Forrester Collier
BURLINGTON — Mrs. Sallie Lee Forrester Collier, 85, died at 7:05 p.m. Friday, Jan. 5, 2001, at the Skilled Nursing Division of Alamance Regional Medical Center.
A native of Chatham County, she was the wife of the late Mr. Frank Edgar Collier and the daughter of Mr. Charles Forrester and Mrs. Elvie Dixon Forrester, both deceased. She was a member of Grove Park Baptist Church, where she was in the church choir for many years. She was also a member of the Fidelis Sunday school class and was formerly church historian.
Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Carolyn (Ray) Whitesell of Burlington; a son, Mr. Charles (Cathy) Collier of Burlington; two sisters, Mrs. Jessie Siler and Mrs. Lucille Spoon, both of Burlington; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Ms. Estelle Wall; and four brothers, Mr. Clarence Forrester, Mr. Nathan Forrester, Mr. Sam Forrester, and Mr. Vance Forrester.
The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday at Grove Park Baptist Church by Dr. Eugene Hunsinger, pastor, and Dr. Roy P. Taylor, pastor of senior adults and pastor emeritus. The body will be at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory prior to the service. Burial will be in Alamance Memorial Park.
The family will be at the funeral home from 4 to 6 this evening, and at other times at the home of the daughter, Mrs. Carolyn Whitesell, 207 Ridge Court, Burlington, and at the home of the sister, Mrs. Jessie Siler, 406 Laurel Hill Drive, Burlington.
