Lonnie James Moore
   MEBANE — Mr. Lonnie James Moore, 76, of 1643 MebaneOaksRoad,Mebane,N.C. died Monday, June 14, 2010 at 1:21 a.m. at his residence.

   He was retired from Dixie Yarns with over 30 years of service. A loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend, he enjoyed NASCAR, gardening, fishing and playing Duck Pin bowling with his Dixie Yarns team, but nothing put a smile on his face like his grandchildren and greatgrandchildren.

   He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Annie Lee Kernodle Moore, of the home; daughters, Kathy Florence and husband Jim of Efland, Sylvia Price and husband Ronnie of Mebane, Connie Moore of Mebane, Diann Hall of Graham and Hilda McCauley and husband Mike of Mebane; grandchildren, Ray Moore, Tonja Ashley, Anna Florence-Crawford, David Florence, Adam McCauley, Michael Hatch, Amy McCauley, Leslie Jarrett, Rhonda Price and Ashley McCauley.

   He is also survived by 10 great-grandchildren; six stepgrandchildren ; six great-stepgrandchildren; sisters, Maggie Edmonds, Macey Bare and Blanche Moore; and many loving nieces and nephews.

   He was preceded in death by his parents, William Moore and Mandy Cates Moore; sisters, Annie Glasgow, Pearl Williams and Maebelle Moore; and brothers, Elbert Moore, Willie Moore and Hayward Moore.

   The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, June 16, 2010 at Florence Memorial Baptist Church by the Rev. James “Buster” Florence. Burial will be in Mt. Zion Christian Church cemetery.

   The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. on June 15, 2010 at the McClure Funeral Home in Mebane and at other times at the residence.
