Mrs. Erma Truitt Pickett, 88, of Mebane, died Friday, Aug. 23, 2002 at
Duke University Hospital in Durham.
Born May 25, 1914 in Orange County, she was the wife of the late Mr.
Billie B. Pickett and the dauthter of the late Thomas Truitt and Mary
Lowe.
She was a textile worker and lifelong member of Edgewood Baptist
Church.
Survivors include one son, Mr. Alfred Thomas (Dona) Pickette of
Greensboro; one grandson, Mr. Terry B. (Annette) Pickett of Cortess,
Colo.; two granddaughters, Mrs. Denise (Lloyd) Ellis of Prospect Hill
and Sarah L. Pickett of Greensboro; one sister, Alverta T. Albright of
Mebane; two great-granddaughters and two step-great-grandsons.
She was preceded in death by three sisters, Minnie Riggs, Etta Ward
and Mozelle Truitt and three brothers, Walter Truitt, Floyd Truitt and
Marvin Truitt.
The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Edgewood Baptist
Church. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Walkers Funeral Home in
Mebane.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Edgewood Baptist

MEBANE – Mrs. Erma Truitt Pickett, 88, of Mebane, died Friday, Aug.
