Charles “Ben” Thompson
 
 BURLINGTON — Charles “Ben” Thompson, 93, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, April 9, 2016, at his home.
 
 He was born Dec. 22, 1922, in Alamance County, to the late Julius Delancey and Bessie Mansfield Thompson. He was the husband of the late Audrey Pickett Thompson who passed away in 2004.
 
 Ben had retired from Duke Power and was a member of Grace Bible Fellowship. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in World War II.
 
 Survivors include his daughter, Jo Ann “Jody” Thompson and husband Karl J. Hoyt Jr. of Burlington; a son, John Thompson and wife Sonya of Walkertown; and a daughter-in-law, Betty Thompson of Austin, Ark.; 10 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; seven great-greatgrandchildren; nieces and nephews.
 
 He was preceded in death by his wife; parents; and a son, Larry Thompson.
 
 A graveside service will be conducted Tuesday, April 12, 2016, at 11 a.m. in Pine Hill Cemetery by the Rev. Rodney Murray. Military honors will follow at the graveside by the U.S. Army 82nd Airborne Division.
 
 The body of Mr. Thompson will be available for viewing from 1 until 6 p.m. Monday, April 11, 2016, at Lowe Funeral Home & Cremator, Inc. and the family will receive friends at the home.
 
 Memorials may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of Alamance-Caswell, 914 Chapel Hill Road, Burlington, NC 27215.
