Mr. A.G. Thompson Jr.
BURLINGTON - Mr.A.G. Thompson Jr., 83, of 3452 Harris Road, died Saturday, May 5, 2001, at Alamance Regional Medical Center after a year of declining health.
A native of Alamance County, he was the husband of , Mrs. Grace Anderson Thompson, who survives, and the son of Mr. Arthur Garfield Thompson and Mrs. Ethel Faith Boone Thompson, both deceased. He was retired as a security officer for Western Electric. he was a member of the First Reformed United Church of Christ , the Fesperman Sunday School Class and the Men's Brotherhood. He was a member of the Sons of the American Revolution, the Alamance County Historical Society and the Alamance County Genealogical Society. He was a U .S. Navy veteran of WW II. Survivors other than his wife of the home include two daughters, Mrs. Donna Thompson Bonds of Kernersville and Mrs. Suzanne Thompson Turner of Collinsville, VA.; a son, Mr. J. David Thompson of Burlington; six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. He was preceded, in death by a son, Mr. Arthur Garfield Thompson; and a brother, Mr. Kent B. Thompson. The funeral will be,conducted at 11 a.m. Monday at First Reformed United Church of Christ by the Rev. Phillip Myers and the Rev. Robert Bonds. Burial will be in the Pine Hill Cemetery. The family will be at Rich and Thompson Mortuary ln Burlington from 4 to 6 pm. today, and at other times at the home. Memorials may be made to Loaves and Fishes, 346 W. Front St., Burlington, NC 27215.3, Mr. A.G. Thompson Jr.
