Charles Glen Harris
BURLINGTON — Charles Glen Harris, 88, a resident of Liberty Commons, formerly of Shallowford Church Road in Elon, died at 10:10 p.m. Friday, March 19, 2004 at Liberty Commons.
Born in Chatham County, he was the son of the late Thomas Sexton Harris and Lucy Snipes Harris and the husband of the late Ada Webster Harris. He was a retired estimator for Alamance Lumber Company, a member of the first United Methodist Church of Elon, a member of the Methodist Men, a former member of the choir and was very active in various church groups and activities.
Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Linda Whitesell and her husband Don of Elon, Ms. Jean Harris Sumner of Elon, and Mrs. Sara Hooper and her husband Rex of Rougemont; a son, Thomas Glen Harris and his wife Linda of Elon; one sister, Mrs. Lucille H. Evans of Liberty Commons; six grandchildren, and one greatgrandchild.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. today at First United Methodist Church of Elon by the Rev. Randy Maynard. Burial will be in Pine Hill Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the First United Methodist Church of Elon today one hour prior to the service. His grandsons will be serving as pallbearers.
