March 25, 1942 ~ March 31, 2022 (age 80)

Larry C. Hunter, 80, of Graham passed away on March 31, 2022.
A native of Alamance County, he was the loving husband of Nellie Hunter, who survives and the son of Clarence W. Hunter and Ola Cheek Hunter, both deceased.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Michele Simmons and her husband Danny, Kim Chambers and her husband Todd.

 A funeral service will be held at Beacon Baptist Church on Saturday, April 9, 2022 at 2:00 pm

Larry Cheek Hunter

March 25, 1942 ~ March 31, 2022 (age 80)

Mr. Larry Cheek Hunter, 80, of Graham went to be with his Lord and Savior on March 31, 2022.

A native of Alamance County, he was the husband of 56 years to Nellie R. Hunter, who survives, and the son of Clarence W. Hunter and Ola Cheek Hunter, both deceased.

Mr. Hunter was a member of Beacon Baptist Church in Burlington for over 40 years where he served as deacon and a Sunday School Teacher. He entertained and taught Bible in numerous local Rest Homes and senior centers in the area for over 30 years. He was a lifelong area singer and guitar enthusiast. Larry was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served in Korea.

In addition to his wife of their home, survivors include two daughters, Michele Simmons and husband Danny of Graham and Kimberly Chambers and husband Todd of Cary; three granddaughters, Meagan Conrad, Julia Brandt (Max) and Meredith Simmons; four grandsons, Hunter Simmons (Chace), Ryan Chambers (Jana), Nolan Simmons (Kylie), and Landon Simmons (Brooke); and eight great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by three sisters, Jean Worrell, Meck Councilman and Jackie Farmer; and two brothers, Bill Hunter and Auman Hunter.

A celebration of life will be held at Beacon Baptist Church on Saturday, April 9, 2022 at 2:00 pm by Rev. Robert LaTour. Burial will follow at Alamance Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Beacon Baptist Church, 1622 Kirkpatrick Rd. Burlington, NC 27215.
