REIDSVILLE — Loyd Alfred Cook, 78, formerly of Reidsville, passed away on Dec. 4, 2012 atWhite Oak Manor of Burlington.
A graveside service will be held 2 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 6, 2012 at Apple’s Chapel Christian Church with Pastor Allen Myers officiating.
Loyd was born on Dec. 7, 1933 to the late Junior Floyd and Nettie Whitsell Cook. He was of the Christian faith and was a member of Apple’s Chapel Christian Church. He enjoyed nice cars and keeping them clean, country music, and watching western movies. Loyd was outgoing and always such a good person that was fun loving and had a good heart. He will truly be missed. Along with his parents he was preceded in death by his brothers, Herbert A. Cook and Willie N. Cook.
He is survived by his brothers, Fred L. Cook and wife, Jackie of Climax, NC, James J. Cook of Gibsonville, NC and Ervin P. Cook and wife, Ruth of Sandy Ridge, NC; several nieces and nephews and a large extended family.
Loyd will lie in state 30 minutes before the service and the family will receive friends following the service in the church.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Apple’s Chapel Christian Church, 7345 NC Hwy 61, Gibsonville, NC 27249.
