Ruth Madren Blackwell, 92, passed away Saturday, October 11, 2008 at Brian Center. A graveside service will be held at 2 PM on Wednesday, October 13 at Danview Cemetery. Mrs. Blackwell was born July 17, 1916 in Guilford County to the late Julius E. Madren and Martha Michael Madren. She was a member of First Baptist Church (Draper) and was a homemaker. Surviving are two step-children, Lorine Pruitt of Eden and Tyrus Blackwell and wife, Libby of Roanoke, VA; step-grandchildren, Cathy Merritt and husband, Ted of Eden, Beth Smith and husband, Paul of Salem, VA, and Jenny Whyte and husband, Barry of Fresno, CA; three step-great-grandchildren, Tyler Smith, Chelsea Whyte and Ben Whyte; numerous nieces and nephews and a special nephew, Jefferson Madren and wife, Sharon. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Paul and Silas Madren; and two sisters, Callie Mae Madren and Maggie Zimmerman. 470, Ruth Madren Blackwell
