Mabel McCollum Lethco, 88, formerly of 1831 Sharpe Road, died Friday, Dec. 26, 2003, at the Evergreens Nursing Center.

Mrs. Lethco's funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Monday in Sharpe Road Baptist Church. Interment will follow in Guilford Memorial Park.

Margaret Lethco was born in Gibsonville on July 10, 1915, to the late Luther Dwaine and Isabel Michael McCollum. A graduate of Gibsonville High School, she was retired from Wesley Long Community Hospital. Mrs. Lethco was a member of Sharpe Road Baptist Church, where she was president of the Baptist women, an assistant Sunday school teacher and a choir member. She also served as a devotional leader at Serenity Care Nursing Center.

Survivors include a son, Charles Alfred Lethco of Greensboro; sister Mary Dexheimer of Lancaster, S.C.; brother Luther D. McCollum of Elon.

Mrs. Lethco was preceded in death by her husband, Charlie Monroe Lethco in 1979, sisters Esther Tillett and Alma Dexheimer, brothers Homer McCollum, Herbert McCollum, Harvey McCollum and James McCollum.

The family will receive friends from 4 to 6 p.m. on Sunday at Forbis & Dick North Elm Street.
