Peter F. Barber Killed In Auto Smash

     Native of Shallowford Section of Alamance - No Details of the Accident are Known.
     News has just reached here of the death of Peter F. Barber, native of the Shallow Ford section of Alamance county, which occurred in a train - automobile wreck at Dade City, Fla., last night.
     No particulars wee given, the message coming from the coroner who was called to the wreck. He stated that Mr. Barber was driving alone when he crossed the tract and the train struck him, demolishing the car and killing Mr. Barber instantly.
     The body will be brought to Shallow Ford church, north of Elon College, some time the first of the week, and interment made there.
     Mr. Barber was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Riley Barber, spending his early life near here.
     He graduated at Elon College several years ago, and had been traveling Mississippi several years selling fruit trees.
     He is survived by his wife, who was formerly Miss Ollie Hall, of this place, and a daughter; by five brothers and a sister, and two half-brothers and a half-sister; L. T. Barber, of Florida, F. H., A. E., and W. C. Barber, of Owanka, South Dakota; and B.A. and Dewitt Barber, Elon College; Mrs. T. N. Adam, Raleigh; and Dan Barber and Mrs. A. G. Penley, Burlington.
