Seventh son of Tiny M E Michael and David R Barber. Delivered Memorial Address Shallow Ford Cemetery, second Sunday of May 1918. Two weeks later graduated from Elon College with PH. B. Degree. Immediately drafted as a private to Long Island, sailed for France August 1918. Wounded in front line battle October 19, 1918. Died December 18, 1918. Buried with full military honors, grave B 185 De La Concorde, France. Co. L 165th Inf. 42nd Div.
