Samuel Floyd McKinney


ELON — Samuel Floyd McKinney , 86, died Saturday, May 27, 2006 at Alamance Regional Medical Center.
A native of Caswell County, he was the son of the late William Andrew McKinney and the late Maude Boswell McKinney and was married to Mrs. Mable Dameron Mc-Kinney for over 58 years. Mr. McKinney was retired from Western Electric and was a member of the Pioneers Club. He was a member of Grove Park Baptist Church and the Reliable Sunday School Class and was a former Deacon. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army where he served in WWII in the 88th Engineers Heavy Pontoon Bridge Battalion.
Mr. McKinney is survived by his wife of the home; two daughters, Linda McKinney McIntyre and her husband Howard of Roxboro, and Carolyn McKinney Baughan and her husband Ron of Gibsonville; a son, Michael Anderson McKinney and his wife Karen of Midland; grandchildren, Brian Mc-Intyre, Susan McIntyre, Jimmy Baughan, Jamie B. Hart and her husband Tim, Megan M. Geddings and her husband Ron, Second Lieutenant Meredith McKinney and Madison McKinney ; great-grandson, Benjamin Hart; sisters, Mrs. Lurline McKinney Bennett and Mrs. Florene McKinney Dixon, both of Burlington; and special sister-in-law, Nancy Dameron. He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, Burton, Clyde, and Howard McKinney .
The funeral will be conducted at 11a.m. Monday, May 29, 2006 at Grove Park Baptist Church by Dr. Gene Hunsinger. Interment will follow in Alamance Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 this evening at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory.
