Dennis Edward Martin, 85, of Hickory, North Carolina, passed away on Friday, February 27, 2026 at Carolina Caring Catawba Valley Hospice House in Newton, North Carolina.
A native of Alamance County, he was the husband of Jan Martin and the son of the late Edward Martin and the late Juanita Martin. He was a veteran of the United States Army and enjoyed being outdoors, fishing, kayaking, golfing, hiking, and taking care of his dogs.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughter, Stephanie Reid, Ed Reid, son-in-law, of Huntersville, NC; granddaughters, Hayden Reid and Mackenzie Reid of Huntersville, NC; brother-in-law Neal Hall of Reidsville; sister-in-law Priscilla Martin of Whitsett; and several nephews and nieces.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister Sharon Hunt and brother-in-law Larry Hunt; brother, Blake Martin; and nephew Jeff Hunt.
His memorial service will be held at 3:00 pm on Friday, March 6, 2026 in the chapel of the Mausoleum at Alamance Memorial Park.
