Mildred Elizabeth Hendricks, 97, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, June 19, 2019, She was born in Alamance County to the late Gaither Alexander and Gertie Summers Hendricks. She was the wife of the late PFC Vance Harland Patton who was killed in World War II in 1944 in France. Mildred grieved the rest of her life over the loss of her husband.

Mildred worked for many years for Tallhimers Department Store. She was a member of the First United Methodist church of Gibsonville. Mildred loved birds and enjoyed watching them come to her birdfeeders scattered throughout her yard. 

She is survived by her grandchildren, Vance Patton and wife, Megan and Laura Shepanski and husband, Michael; great grandchildren, Lindsey Dreher and husband, Daniel, Katie Shepanski and Madison Shepanski; great great grandchildren, Nolan and Freya Dreher.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday, June 22, 2019 at 10AM at Gibsonville City Cemetery.
