Doris Rebecca (Powell) Summers passed away on Tuesday, May 10, 2022. She was born on December 11, 1929, to the parents of Ira and Mattie Powell.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Bobby Ray Summers; and her siblings Paul Powell (Bertha), Marion Sharpe (Howard), and Adelene Strickland (Vern). She is survived by her daughter, Mary S. Johnson (Jeff) of Brown Summit; her nieces and nephews: Pam Sharpe of Danville, Danny Sharpe of Trinity, Paula Powell of Ruffin, West Strickland of British Columbia; her grandchildren: Trey Johnson (Taylor), Hunter Johnson and Cooper Johnson; and two great-grandchildren: Teagan and Nolan Johnson.
Doris graduated from King's Business College, working most of her career at Dover Elevator Company as an executive secretary. Doris was an advocate for all animals and all things NASCAR.
A celebration of her life will be held at her daughter's home from 6:30 p.m to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, May 25, 2022. Come help us celebrate Doris's life and her eternity with Jesus.
