Lindbergh Huffines
BROWN SUMMIT - Lindbergh “Lind” Huffines, 90, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, October 19, 2017.
He was a native of Guilforld County and the son of the late Dewey Huffines, Sr. and Pearl Zimmerman Huffines. He was the husband of 68 years to Terry Stephens Huffines who survives.
Lindbergh retired after 40 years with Revolution Mills a division of Cone Mills. He was a member of Apple’s Chapel Christian Church and the Helping Hands Sunday school class. In the past he served in the church as head usher and sang with the men’s chorus. Lindbergh was an avid hunter and enjoyed gardening in his spare time. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and greatgrandfather.
Survivors include his wife, Terry Stephens Huffines of the home; daughter, Judy Jones and husband, Andrew of Gibsonville and a son, Jerry Huffines and wife, Nancy of Gibsonville; grandchildren, Brian Jones, Stephen Jones and wife, Jessica and Gary Huffines; greatgrandchildren, Parker and Lucas Jones and a sister, Christine Oakley of Mebane.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and two sisters.
The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 24, 2017 at 11 a.m. at Apple’s Chapel Christian Church by Rev. Dave Johnson, Pastor and assisted by Rev. C. Allen Myers III. The burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. - 8 p.m. on Monday at Apple’s Chapel Christian Church and other times at the home.
