Bill Roy Dimont 


    BURLINGTON — Bill Roy Dimont , age 77, of 2419 Parrish Street, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, January 27, 2008, at Alamance Regional Medical Center. He was a native of Rockingham County and the husband of 53 years to Peggy York Dimont , who survives.
    Bill  was employed for many years with Alamance Motors and he retired from GKN in Mebane after 15 years. Bill  was a member of The First Reformed United Church of Christ and a former member of the Alamance-Caswell Hunt Club. Bill  enjoyed hunting, fishing and working with auto engines and all types of motors. He enjoyed spending time at Lake Cammack with his family water skiing and boating. Bill  was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.
    Survivors include his wife, Peggy York Dimont  of the home; sons and daughter-inlaw, Gary Dimont  of Burlington, Keith Dimont  and his wife, Cindy, of Elon and Mitchell Dimont  of Burlington; grandchildren, Angela MacDonald and her husband, Jon, of Gibsonville, Brandon Dimont  and Courtney Dimont , both of Elon, Heath Aldridge of Gibsonville; greatgrandson, Gavin MacDonald; sister, Bonita Watson of Burlington.
    He was preceded in death by his parents, Lacy Roy  and Effie Merritt Dimont .
    The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, January 30, 2008 at 2 p.m. at the Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Phil Myers. Burial will follow at Alamance Memorial Park.
    The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home, and other times at the home.
