Margaret Matkins Moore 


    ELON — Mrs. Margaret Matkins Moore , 95, formerly of David Moore  Road, Elon, died at Alamance Regional Medical Center on Tuesday, June 12, 2007 following two weeks critical illness.
    A native of Alamance County, she was the wife of the late David A. Moore  and the daughter of George William Matkins  and Eugenia Lewis Matkins , both deceased. She was a lifelong member of Shiloh United Methodist Church.
    Survivors include two sons, Mr. David A. Moore  Jr. and wife, Barbara. of Burlington and Mr. Vernon L. Moore  and wife, Norma, of Burlington; three grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
    She was preceded in death by three sisters, Mrs. Cassie Mitchell, Mrs. Annie Gerringer and Mrs. Inez Herndon; and two brothers, Mr. John Matkins  and Mr. Frank Matkins .
    The funeral service will be conducted at Rich & Thompson Chapel in Burlington on Friday, June 15, 2007 at 11 a.m. by Dr. Alan Sasser and Mr. Tim Ross. Burial will follow in Shiloh United Methodist Church cemetery.
    The family will receive friends at the Rich & Thompson Mortuary in Burlington from 6 until 8 this evening, June 14, 2007, and at other times they will be at the residence of David and Barbara Moore , 3606 Durham Street Extension, Burlington, N.C.
    Memorials may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of Alamance-Caswell, 914 Chapel Hill Road, Burlington, N.C. 27215.
    The family would like to express their gratitude to the nursing staff and Telemetry Ward at Alamance Regional Medical Center and the friends and staff at Blakey Hall for their compassion and kindness.
