George Walter Gerringer

May 2, 1934 ~ April 26, 2021 (age 86)

Burlington- George Walter Gerringer, age 86, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, April 26, 2021 at Liberty Commons. He was a native of Alamance County and the son of the late Walter and Lillian Montgomery Gerringer. He was the husband of 64 years to Betty Bryant Gerringer who survives.

    George retired from Glen Raven Mills. He was a member of Altamahaw Baptist Church and the Senior Men’s Sunday School Class. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather.

     George is survived by his wife, Betty Bryant Gerringer; his sons, Don Gerringer and wife, Tammy of Burlington, Simon Gerringer and wife, Cheryl of Snow Camp; his daughter, Susan Randolph and husband, Randy of McLeansville; grandchildren, Craig (Liv) Gerringer, Amanda (Luke) Moffett, Bobby (Amanda) Gerringer, Brandon Gerringer and Fianceé Karen and Matt Randolph; great grandchildren, Lila and Jack Gerringer; sister, Cora Wrenn of Elon. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Gary Dean Gerringer, daughter, Robin Denise Marley; brother, Counsel Gerringer; infant brother, W E Gerringer and infant sister, Margaret Gerringer.

    The funeral service will be held at 11:00am, Friday, April 30, 2021 at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Dr. Steve Tucker with interment to follow at Pine Hill Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 9:45-10:45am prior to the service and other times at the home of Don Gerringer.
