BURLINGTON — Henean Cornelius Barber , 81, of 633 Atwater Road, died on Sunday, May 1, 2005, at Edgewood Place.
He was born in Alamance County, son of the late Henean Littleton Barber and the late Anna Gerringer Barber , and was married to the late Myrtice Jolley Barber .
Mr. Barber was a member of Altamahaw Baptist Church, where he served as treasurer for the 211 Men’s Senior Sunday school class. He was a former employee of Glen Raven Mills and a U.S. Army Air Force veteran of World War II.
He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Ann and David Harris of Elon; granddaughter, Elizabeth Ann Harris; and sister, Ednora Pyle of Elon.
He was preceded in death by his wife; son, William Henean Barber ; parents; and brothers, Willard Lewis Barber and Frank Littleton Barber .
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at Alamance Memorial Park by the Rev. Walter Jones. Mr. Barber may be viewed at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory after 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday. However the family will receive friends at the daughter’s home, 1217 Candlewood Drive, Elon.
Memorials may be made to Altamahaw Baptist Church, 3447 Altamahaw Church St., Elon, N.C. 27244.
