Cheryl Jean Paschal, 70, of Manteo, NC, former longtime Stumpy Point, NC resident, died Friday, April 21, 2023, at her home. Born on July 30, 1952, in Durham, North Carolina, she was the daughter of the late Irma Woods Paschal and Dennis R. Paschal, Sr.
Cheryl was known for her unwavering love and support for her family. She is survived by her daughter, Tracey Hughes; son, Shawn Hughes; two brothers, Dennis Paschal, Jr. (Kay) and Wayne Paschal (Kathy); and the father of her children, Larry Hughes. Cheryl was preceded in death by her husband, Palmer Lewis; and two grandchildren, Dylan Hughes, and James Beasley Hughes.
Cheryl enjoyed traveling and exploring new places. Her love for travel led her to visit numerous countries and cities, creating lifelong memories along the way. In her downtime, Cheryl found solace in word searches and playing cards, often engaging in friendly competition with her loved ones. She was an avid fan of the television show Sanford & Sons, and her laughter could be heard from miles away as she watched her favorite episodes. 470
