ELON — Mrs. Dinah Watson Russell, 81, of 810 Walker Road, died at her residence Friday, Oct. 2, 2015, at 9:28 a.m.
A native of Alamance County, she was the wife of the late Clifford Avery Russell and the daughter of James Harold Watson and Ola Lilian Apple Watson, both deceased. She was a former textile worker with Altamahaw Hosiery and a member of New Hope Baptist Church.
Survivors include eight children, Wayne Russell, Sue R. Whitesell, Steve Russell, Joe Russell, Ronnie Russell, Jimmy Russell, Jeff Russell and Brian Russell, all of Burlington; brother, Jimmy Watson; half-brother, Johnny Mills; 16 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
The funeral service will be conducted in the Rich & Thompson Chapel in Burlington on Monday, Oct. 5, 2015, at 2 p.m. by the Rev. Randy Hobbs. Burial will follow in Alamance Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends at Rich & Thompson Funeral and Cremation Service in Burlington on Sunday, Oct. 4, 2015, from 6 to 8 p.m. At other times they will be at the residence.
The family would like to express their gratitude to Hospice and Palliative Care of Alamance-Caswell for the care and compassion given to Dinah.
Memorials may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of Alamance-Caswell, 914 Chapel Hill Road, Burlington, NC 27215.
