Wentfred Freddie Lowe, 80, passed away on Wednesday, February 18, 2026 at Beacon Place in Greensboro.

He was born in Guilford County and was the son of the late Glen Orace Lowe and Dorothy Marie Vernon Lowe.

Freddie was married for 59 years to his beloved wife, Mary Elizabeth Hedrick Lowe.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force serving as a jet mechanic during the Vietnam War at the rank of Staff Sargent.

Freddie was a member of Emmanuel Wesleyan Church in Greensboro.

He was an avid NASCAR fan and enjoyed fishing, especially at the beach. Freddie was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather who truly enjoyed spending time with his family and his church family as well.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Mary; daughter, Nicole Elizabeth Lowe Weaver and her husband Josh; son, Duane Freddie Lowe; grandchildren, Reagan and Garrett Weaver, Samantha, Devyn and Ethan Lowe; great grandchildren, Cayson and Finn Lowe; brother, Larry Wayne Lowe and his wife Cleo and nephews, Joe Lowe, Jason Lowe and Ronald Hunter.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a nephew, Jeff Lowe.

A service to celebrate Freddie’s life will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday, February 24, 2026 at Emmanuel Wesleyan Church by Pastors, David Surrett and David Albertson with burial to follow in Lakeview Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends from 9:45-10:45 prior to the service at the church and at other times at his residence.
