GIBSONVILLE — Mr. Gene Calvin Walker, 74, of 700 Second Street, Gibsonville died at Moses Cone Memorial Hospital on Sunday, December 27, 2015, at 2:58 p.m. following three months of failing health.
A native of Gibsonville, NC, he was the husband of Suzanne Hooper Walker, who survives and the son of Willie Walker and Roberta Page Walker, both deceased. He retired from Culp, Inc.
In addition to his wife of the home, survivors include three daughters, Cindy Walker, Debbie Walker Woody and Angela Walker Wilborn and husband Ernest; a son, Dana Wolfe; seven grandchildren, Bryan Walker and wife Catherine, Amanda Matkins and husband Scott, Dustin Wilborn, Tyler Wilborn, Ashley Gaddy, Briana Woody and Ethan Woody; and six greatgrandchildren.
The funeral service will be conducted at Rich & Thompson Chapel in Burlington on Wednesday, December 30, 2015, at 6 p.m.by the Rev. Don Pegg with the family receiving friends from 4 to 6 p.m. prior to the service. Other times they will be at the residence.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family to assist with final expenses.
