Ruth Garrison Oakley, 95, passed away on Wednesday, December 21, 2022 at Innisfree Health and Rehabilitation Center in Rogers, Arkansas.

She moved to Bella Vista, Arkansas where she resided for the past 11 years. She was born in Alamance County to the late Lacy Lee Garrison and Bertha Saunders Garrison and was married to the late Howard Thomas Oakley. 

She retired from Carolina Biological Supply after 37 years of service.  She was a former member of First United Methodist Church of Elon where she served as Superintendent of the Children’s Department and served as Circle Leader and Sunday school teacher at West Burlington United Methodist Church.

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Frank and Michele Oakley of Rogers, AR; granddaughter, Kendyll Murray and her husband, Tom of Rogers, AR; and sister, Jean Gray Weathers of Lakeland, Florida. 

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and siblings: Mozelle Beckom and Nellie Kraemer, Odell, Aubrey, Raymond and Vernon Garrison. 

A service to celebrate her life will be held 2:00 PM Saturday, December 31, 2022 at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Pastor Darrell Massey with burial to follow in Pine Hill cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 12:45-1:45 PM prior to the service at the funeral home.
