Kathryn Shaw Miller
 
 Kathryn Shaw Miller, 89, of Burlington was called home by her Lord on March 12, 2016, at Hospice of Alamance following a period of declining health. A native of Mebane, she and her husband, Don Phillip Miller, had resided in Burlington for many years and recently celebrated 60 years of marriage.
 
 Preceding her in death were her parents James Earl and Susan Cook Shaw as well as her only brother James Cook Shaw and her only sister, Mary Ellen Boyles and husband B.C. Boyles Jr.
 
 Educated in the Mebane Public Schools and East Carolina University, she was a loyal member of Mebane United Methodist Church, the United Methodist Women, the Worker’s Bible Class and formerly the church choir. She had been an employee of Western Electric (later AT&T) for many years. She was proud to be a former President of Alamance Regional Medical Center Auxiliary and formerly an active volunteer at Twin Lakes Community.
 
 Survivors include her husband Phil, of the home; sisters-in-law Brenda Kay Corn and Janice Yvonne Burnette of California and a brother-in-law, Kenneth Lee Miller of North Carolina. Nearest relatives locally include a sister-inlaw, Mae Edla Shaw, nieces Mary Jean Covington, Susan Boyles Kinney, Carolyn Boyles Younger and husband Charles; nephew Jim Shaw and wife Audrey; great-nieces Courtney Covington, Caroline Massey and husband Greg, Jessica Sheets and husband Anthony, Emily Wells, Mary Ward Boerner and husband Chris, Karen Key Lugo and husband James; great-nephews James David Shaw and wife Kristin, Scott Key and great-great nieces Morgan Covington, Peyton Shaw, and greatgreat nephews Ryker and Jake Lugo.
 
 A service of remembrance will be Wednesday, March 16 at 2 p.m. at Mebane United Methodist Church, 200 South FourthStreet, Mebane, with the Reverend Johnnie Wright officiating. Visitation will follow the service.
