Lillian Huey Sharpe
GIBSONVILLE — Mrs. Lillian Huey Sharpe, 94, formerly of 1317 Dogwood Drive, was called home on Saturday, April 16, 2016, at 8:57 a.m. at the Hospice Home after several years of declining health.
A native of Randolph County, Ala., she was the daughter of the late Charlie and Augusta McManess Huey, and the wife of the late Earl Sharpe. She was retired from Huey’s Seafood and was a member of Faith United Methodist Church, Burlington.
She was predeceased by nine brothers and two sisters.
Survivors include two daughters, Sandra W. Griffin (Tom) of Burlington and Vicki W. Mitchell (Bobby) of Gibsonville; one stepdaughter, Mary S. Andrews (Bryant) of Liberty; six grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m., Tuesday, April 19, 2016, in the Rich & Thompson Chapel, Burlington, by the Rev. Darrell Massey. Burial will be in Alamance Memorial Park.
The family will receive visitors at Rich & Thompson Funeral and Cremation Service in Burlington on Monday, April 18, from 6 to 8 p.m.
The family would like to thank the staff and residents of Edgewood Place Nursing Home and the staff of the Hospice Home for their compassion and care of our mother. Mostly, we thank God for choosing her to be our mother.
