Delbert Eugene Van Slyke, 77, of Olympia, WA passed away on March 2, 2016 due to complications from diabetes.
He was born in Caldwell, ID November 12, 1938 to Herbert and Ruth (Summers) Van Slyke, married Barbara DeBoer on April 25, 1964 and was a restaurant owner/operator in Aberdeen (Smitty's Pancake House) and Olympia (VanDee's Dutch Treat Inn) for most of his working life.
Preceded in death by his parents, Del is survived by his wife, Barbara; daughter, Jennifer (Terry) Meyer; son, Brett Van Slyke; grandsons, Vaughn and Miller Van Slyke; brother, Leland (Lois) Van Slyke of Caldwell, ID; and brother, Milton (Irene) Van Slyke of Annandale, VA.
A memorial service will be held at noon, Sat., March 12, 2016 at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church in Olympia.
