Obituary Online notes for Mary Frances MATKINS
Mary Frances Matkins Brown, 82 of Reidsville, NC went to be with the Lord Thursday April 7, 2016 at her home.

Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 P.M. Monday April 11, 2016 at Lowe’s United Methodist Church. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

A native of Rockingham County, she was the daughter of the late William Henry and Minnie Brooks Matkins and had lived in Rockingham County her entire life. She was a lifelong member of Lowe’s United Methodist Church and a member of the United Methodist Women.

A former employee of Glen Raven Mills and Matkins Fabric, she also helped her husband Bill moving mobile homes across the United States. She was a member of the Horseless Carriage Club of America, the Tarheel T’s, and the E Z Street Cruisers. Frances was a charter member of the Ladies Auxiliary of Williamsburg Fire Dept. and was preceded in death by her husband: William H. “Bill” Brown and brothers: David Matkins, Harold Matkins, and William Elmore “Elmo” Matkins.
Survivors include: sons: Gene Brown and wife Pat of Reidsville, and Phillip Brown of Reidsville, six grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

Memorials may be sent to: Hospice of Rockingham County, P.O. Box 281 Wentworth, NC 27375.

The family will see friends 6:00 till 8:00 P.M. Sunday April 10, 2016 at Citty Funeral Home and at other times will be at the residence. 470, Mary Frances Matkins Brown
