Bobby Byrd Obituary
Mr. Bobby Frank Byrd, of Mebane, NC passed away on January 20, 2024 at the Hospice Home in Burlington.
A native of Orange Co. NC, he was the son of the late Albert “Stedman” Byrd and Bessie Smith Byrd.
Bobby was also preceded in death by his loving wife of 41 years, Ersel Barts Byrd.
Bobby retired from Burlington Industries as a Rigger with 33 years of service. Following retirement, Bobby loved to travel and take cruises and was thankful that he got to travel across the United States. He will forever be remembered for being a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, companion, and friend to all. Bobby lived life to the fullest.
Survivors include his daughters, Rachel Byrd (Carl) and Bobbie B. Underwood (Eddie); his son, Danny Byrd (Nicki); his grandchildren, Jeremy Underwood (Crystal), Joshua Underwood (Heidi), Daniel Byrd (Sarah), Robert Way (Heather), and Nicholas Wilson; his 8 great grandchildren; a special friend, Dorothy Wright and many loving nieces, nephews, and friends.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday January 23, 2024 at the Mt. Zion Christian Church Cemetery with the Pastor Ronnie Byrd officiating.
The family will receive friends from 5:30 until 7:00 PM on Monday January 22, 2024 at the McClure Funeral Home in Mebane, and other times at the residence of the daughter, Rachel Byrd. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Cone Health Cancer Center (ARMC)at 1236 Huffman Mill Rd # 120, Burlington, NC 27215 or to AuthoraCare Hospice at 918 Chapel Hill Rd.
