GRAHAM – Ms. Cornelia A. Steele, 64, of Graham passed away at her residence on Thursday, December 22, 2016 at 10:57 a.m.
A native of Alamance County, she was the daughter of the late Wilbur T. Steele and the late Helen May Steele.
Ms. Steele was formerly employed with Bell South, the Alamance County Sheriff’s Department, the Alamance County School System and Edwards Automotive.
She was very active with the Democratic Party and involved with several local civic organizations. She was a member of People’s Memorial Church.
Survivors include a son, Silas Steele of the home; daughter, Michelle Tranbarger and husband Christopher of the home; granddaughter, Madeline Joyce-Lynn Tranbarger; brother, Buddy Steele of Graham; and daughters of her heart, Amy Marquis, Holly Hudson and A.J. Wilson and their children who were special grandchildren.
Ms. Steele was preceded in death by her sister, Karen Steele and brother, Don Mitchell Steele.
The funeral service will be conducted at the Rich & Thompson Chapel in Graham on Tuesday, December 27, 2016 at 2 p.m. by Rev. David Grinnell with the family receiving friends following the service at the funeral home.
Burial will be in Linwood Cemetery. Other times, the family will be at the residence.
