BURLINGTON - Alvin Allred Sr., 85, of 414 Wildwood Lane died Tuesday at Alamance County Hospital.

Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Lowe Funeral Home. Burial will be in Pine Hill Cemetery.

A native of Alamance County, he was the owner and operator of Allred Hosiery Mills and a member of Macedonia Lutheran Church.

Surviving are wife, Mrs. Catherine Noah Allred; daughters, Mrs. Fay Poprik of Fayetteville, Mrs. Carol Apple of Burlington; son, Alvin Allred Jr. of Graham; sisters, Mrs. Hazel Capps of Mebane, Mrs. Novellar Ferguson of Liberty; 14 grandchildren; one step-grandchild; 15 great-grandchildren; two step-great-grandchildren.

The family will be at the funeral home 7-8:30 p.m. today, other times at the residence.
