BURLINGTON - Mrs. Shirley Anne Wagoner Ellington, 78, of Burlington passed away at her residence on Wednesday, March 22, 2017 at 7:53 a.m.
A native of Alamance County, she was the wife of the late William Thomas Ellington and the daughter of Vasteen Wagoner and Beatrice Shifflette Wagoner, both deceased.
Shirley was a retired textile worker and a longtime employee of Moorefield’s Florist. She was a member of the former Brookwood Baptist Church in Burlington.
Mrs. Ellington is survived by three sons, Lynn Ellington of Snow Camp, Bobby Ellington of Morristown, TN and Ronald Ellington of Snow Camp; three grandchildren, Brooke Weeks, Sylvia Ellington and Crystal Steele; and three brothers, David Wagoner and his wife, Donna of Lake Charles, LA, Donald Wagoner and his wife, Mary of Whitsett and Darrell Wagoner and his wife, Trish of Burlington.
There will be a private cryptside service at the Mausoleum of Alamance Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends at the Rich & Thompson Funeral Home and Crematory in Graham on Friday, March 24, 2017 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Other times they will be at the residence of her brother, Darrell Wagoner at 1687 Jordan Meadows Dr., Burlington, NC 27217.
