Obituary Online notes for “Neil” Cornelius BUTLER Jr.
Cornelius "Neil" Butler Jr., 77, passed away peacefully at his home in Preston, Idaho, on Tuesday, Nov. 6, 2012. He was born Aug. 14, 1935, in Greensboro, N.C., to Cornelius and Margaret Hodgin Butler.
Neil loved to restore antique cars and trucks as well as building model cars and trucks. He always worked hard and loved to fly his airplane. He enjoyed motorcycle rides. He always fought for good, honest government and was a believer in the American Dream. He never missed a single day of work and was always honest in his dealings in his business and with his friends. Neil always had his bible and he never stopped learning from it every day.
He is survived by his wife Julie Butler of Orofino, Idaho: sons Mike Butler of Orofino, Idaho; Don Butler of Randleman, N.C., and Russ (Sharon) Butler of Pleasant Garden, N.C.; stepchildren Dave Boyle of Logan, Utah, Lorie (Bracken) Cole of Preston, Idaho, John (Paige) Boyle of Sterrett, Ala., and Crystal (Tim) Rawlings of Malad, Idaho; 11 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. He is also survived by two sisters, Joanne (Earl) Watts of Winston-Salem, N.C., and Caroline (Milton) Hostetler of Altamonta, Fla.; half brother Aaron (Brenda) Butler of McLeansville, N.C.; and half sisters Janie (David) Bevers and Janet Doss, both of North Carolina. He was preceded in death by his parents, stepmother Annabel Butler, first wife Phyllis Butler, and grandson Donald "little Neil" Butler.
Funeral services will be held at a later date in North Carolina under the direction of Cumby Family Funeral Service. Interment will be in the Guilford Memorial Park in Greensboro, N.C.
