Juanita Fay Vestal, Marshfield, MO, daughter of Otis Boyd and Edith (Roper) Miller was born January 25, 1923 in Rader, MO and departed this life January 7, 2014.
Juanita was saved in a revival at Happy Home Cumberland Presbyterian Church at the age of 12.
She graduated from Conway High School as Valedictiorian in the class of 1940. She attended both MSU and Drury University and taught one year at Sand Springs Rural School.
On Easter Sunday, April 5, 1942 she and Robert E. Vestal were married at the first wedding ever held at Happy Home Church.
Juanita was an elementary teacher in the schools of Webster and Laclede County for 37 years, the last 16 years in the Remedial Reading Department at Marshfield Schools.
Preceding her in death were her parents, one sister, Virginia M. Miller, and one brother, William J. Miller.
Survivors include her husband Robert of the home, one son; Robert W. Vestal and Sally, Springfield, MO, three daughters; Candace D. Welcher and Louis, Russellville, Arkansas, Virgina M. (Ginger) Phillips and Roger, Springfield, MO, Barbara L. Staumbaugh and Jim, Crocker, MO, ten grandchildren; Richard, Josh, David, Cheyenne, Emilie, Logan, Jennifer, Will, Tory, and Ty, eight great grandchildren; Sarah, Peter, Luke, Jacob, Claire, Zoey, Hudson, Lila, and one sister, Mary Evelyn Howard, Springfield, MO.
Services for Juanita Fay Vestal will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, January 11, 2014 in Day Funeral Home, Marshfield, MO. Burial will be in Happy Home Cemetery, Conway, MO.
Visitation will be held one hour prior to service.
Memorial contributions may be made to Happy Home Cemetery Fund and left in care of the funeral home.
