Cook, Bessie D (Dinwiddie), 95, was taken to her heavenly home on November 1, 2009.

Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m., Thursday, November 5, 2009, at Woodland Lakes Community Church.

She loved the lord and was a blessing to everyone with her kind heart and beautiful smile. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.

Bessie was born in Rader, Missouri, the daughter of Joshua and Bertha (Mace) Dinwiddie. She had 6 brothers and a sister.

She married Arthur Cook on May 2, 1953 and had one son.

Bessie was a devoted children's worker. She worked in the Nazarene Church's Caravan (children's) program for many years. She was PTA President at Washington Elementary. Her house held several plaques for recognition given during her 60 years of teaching Sunday school. Bessie had a love for painting from an early age and became a talented and prolific artist. In her later years she hand painted Christmas cards that were cherished by their recipients.

Bessie was preceded in death by her parents, her husband her brothers Roy, Earl, Raymond, Ralph, Irvin, and her sister Opal.

She is survived by her brother Emit Dinwiddie of Denton, Texas, son Roger (Karen), grandsons Mike and David Cook, Great grandchildren Nick and Kaylee Cook all of Wichita; step-sons Charles (Gail) Cook Independence Missouri, Leslie (Carol) Cook Blackburn Missouri, Arthur Cook Jr., and step-daughter Mary-Ann Bartel both of Concordia Missouri.

Memorials may be sent to the children's program at Woodland Lakes Community Church in Wichita.
