Obituary Online notes for Lillie Kate KIRK
Lillie Kate Hurt, daughter of Ebb and Nannie Kate Allen Kirk, was born April 30, 1899 in Mohawk, TN.

She departed this life Saturday, March 30, 1996, in the Hartville Care Center in Hartville, MO, at the age of 96 years and 11 months.

On Jun 5, 1919, she was united in marriage to William Andrew Jackson "Andy" Mace, and to this union 8 children were born. Mr. Mace preceded her in death on May 25, 1935.

On Aug 11, 1936, she was united in marriage to Henry Thomas Hurt, and to this union one child was born. Mr. Hurt passed away on Oct 21, 1960.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; 2 sons James and Leroy Mace; 2 daughters Georgia Keeling and Nola Watts; 2 sisters Nola and Lea Kirk; and 2 brothers Venus and "Little Joe" Kirk.

Lillie is survived by 4 daughters Nora Owens of Mountain Grove, MO, Stella Tabor and Ruth Fullington, both of Hartville, MO, and JoAnn Stockwell of Niangua, MO; a son A. J. Mace of Edwardsville, KS; 57 grandchildren; a number of great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; a brother Obe Kirk of Nohawk, TN; a sister Dorothy Cruey of Mohawk, TN; a number of nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends. She was born and raised in Tennessee and continued to live there until she was 20 years old. After she and Andy were married, they lived in Kansas, Tennessee, and in Niangua, MO, before settling in Wright County, MO. Throughout the rest of her life, Lillie made her home near Hartville, and lovingly raised her family. She was always a devoted homemaker and did whatever she could to take care of her children and meet their needs. Lillie made her profession of faith and was saved in 1961, and was a member of the Red Hill Pentecostal Church. She faithfully attended services and enjoyed the fellowship her church offered for as long as her health allowed. In her spare time, she greatly enjoyed fishing and loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Lillie was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, sister, and aunt, and was a kind and caring neighbor and friend. She will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by all of her family and many friends.
