M. Marie Davison, 88, of St. Joseph, formerly of Forest City, Mo., passed away on Monday, Jan. 5, 2009, at a St. Joseph hospital.
She was born in Forest City on June 28, 1920, and graduated from Forest City High School.
She married Floyd Franklin Davison in 1943.
Marie worked as a postal clerk in Forbes, Mo., before being named postmaster at Skidmore, Mo. She later served as postmaster in Oregon, Mo., before retiring in 1982.
Marie also worked at Wal-Mart in St. Joseph for several years.
Marie had made her home in St. Joseph since the mid-1990's.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Mary Lou (Hudson) McKeel, in 1967; sons Gregory in 1986, and Michael in 1994; daughter Vicki M. Fansher in 1993; brothers Lavell and Lowell McKeel; and sisters Cleda Ruth Pullen and Verba Scheid.
Survivors include her daughter-in-law, Angie Davison, Oregon, Mo.; grandchildren, Debbie Gude, Omaha, Neb., David Davison, Branden, Miss., Michele Gorden, Grain Valley, Mo., Christopher Davison, Oregon, Mo. and Tabbi Tatro, Oregon, Mo.; nine great-grandchildren, six great-great-grandchildren; nieces; nephews; and special friends, David and Linda Bloss, St. Joseph.
Services: Wednesday, Jan. 7, at 3 p.m. at the Chamberlain Funeral Home in Oregon. There is no scheduled family visitation. Burial will be at Fillmore Cemetery.
