Obituary Online notes for Roger Orlo HIGHTOWER
Roger O. Hightower, 86, of Troutville, went to be with his Lord and Savior Friday, January 25, 2013. He was a member of Emmanuel Wesleyan Church, retired from General Electric, and was preceded in death by his first wife, Mary Louise Hightower; and his brother, Elmorse Hightower.
Roger is survived by his wife, Phyllis Davis Hightower; five daughters and one son, Joyce Hightower Coburn, Judy Keaton Hurlburt and husband, Al, Patty Ratley Crowder, Dean Hightower and wife, Pam, Beth Hightower Simmons and husband, Steve, Cindy Hightower Burrow and husband, Darrell; sister, Donna Hightower Heasley and husband, Gene; 14 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and five loving stepchildren and spouses and families.
The family would like to express a special thank you to Gentle Shepherd Hospice and Tabatha Clement for the wonderful care of Mr. Hightower.
A funeral service will be held noon Monday, January 28, 2013, at Oakey's North Chapel with Brother Billy Booth officiating. Interment will follow in Sherwood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends on Sunday January 27, 2013, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
