Ada- Services for Edward "Cotton" Summers, Ada, are 1 p.m. Thursday at Jefferson Barracks Cemetery Chapel, St. Louis, Mo., with the cemetery chaplain conducting rites.
Mr. Summers died July 29, 1991, at a Stonewall nursing home. He was born Apr. 4, 1922, in Lebanon, Mo., to Dexter Lewis and Mae Roper Summers.
He moved to this area six years ago from St. Louis, Mo., and was a member of the local Veterans of Foreign Wars. He was a veteran of World War II, serving with the U.S. Navy. Mr. Summers was a Protestant.
His first wife, Grace Ray Summers, died in 1979. He later married Violet M. Croney.
Survivors include his wife, Violet, of the home; two sisters, Inez Keesling, Springfield, Mo., and Lorene Terry, Marshfield, Mo.; three brothers, Robert Summers, Cedar Hill, Mo., Lloyd Summers, Cedar Hill, Mo., and Earl Summers, Tenino, Wash.; three stepchildren, Jim Summers, Tammy Croney, and Vicky Summers, all of Ada.
Bearers are Frank Paillette, Bobby Summers, Bernnie Stewart, and Jim Summers.
Criswell Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
