Gary Dale Jones, 66, Forsyth, MO. son of Dale Otis and Carrie Leona (Rader) Jones was born August 24, 1949 in Kansas City, KS., and departed this life on February 18, 2016 at his home.
After graduating from Washington High School in Kansas City, Gary served his country by joining the Navy October 3, 1967 and retired August 15, 1989, serving several of those years on Submarines. After retirement, he moved to Forsyth, MO and worked at Silver Dollar City.
He was an avid Ham Radio Operator for many years, a part of the American Radio Relay League and served as the NTSD Central Area Digital Coordinator. His Call Letters were KB0OFD - on February 18, 2016 he became a Silent Key.
He is survived by his loving wife Rebecca Jones of the home; daughter, Leona Marie Jones of Edwardsville, KS; two sisters, Peggy Jones, Forsyth, MO and Joyce (Don) Tuter of Prineville, OR; grandsons, Nathan Wonnell, Dallas Lee Wonnell and great grandson, Riley Wonnell all of Edwardsville, KS; nephews, Russell (Lori) Tuter and Paul (Shani) Tuter; niece, Carrie (Jason) Tuter Bauer; eight great nephews and nieces; four great-great nephews and nieces in Oregon; stepdaughters, Loye Abahaddou of Concord, NC, Alicia Schindler of Kankakee, IL, and Rachel Poole of Virginia Beach, VA; fifteen step grandchildren; and many other family and friends.
Funeral service for Gary Dale Jones will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday February 22, 2016 at Day Funeral Home, Marshfield, MO., with burial in Bramhall Cemetery, Grovespring, MO with full military honors provided by Webster County Veteran's Memorial Team. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until service time in the funeral home chapel. In lieu of flowers donation maybe made to Hospice Compassus in care of Day Funeral Home P.O. Box 75 Marshfield, MO.
