Maude Ethel Crain Prock Farmer, daughter of Julia Ann Newton Crain and Claborn Jackson Crain, was born near Odin MO on Oct. 21, 1895.
She moved to Grovespring, MO around the age of 7. She spent her life in this community.She was 12 years old when her father died. In 1915, at the age of 19, she was married to John Melton Prock, son of Jim and Fannie Prock.
To this union four children were born. John died in April 1923.
Maude stayed on the farm and loving raised her four children. In 1949, she was married to Henry B. Farmer. They were married for 20 years when Henry died in November of 1969.
Maude was a faithful Christian, loving wife, mother and grandmother. She loved to quilt and work in her garden.
Maude was preceeded in death by her son; Ernest, her daughter; Freda Clark, her three brothers;Bill,Jess, and Cleve, her three sisters; Zella and Lillie Shaddy, and sister Stella, who had died in childhood.
She is survived by her son R.W. "Bob" Prock and his wife Wilma, her daughter; Jayma Scott,one brother; Heene Crain,sister in law; Erma Crain(widow of Cleveland Johnny), son in law; Fred Clark, 16 grandchildren, 38 great grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren and several neices and nephews.
Her example of Christian service and love toward her family and friends is her legacy. She was loved by all who knew her and will be greatly missed.
