Jerry Lee Prock, son of R. W. “Bob” and Wilma Deckard Prock, was born August 28, 1949, near Grovespring, Missouri. He departed this life Sunday, July 3, 2016, in his home, near Phillipsburg, Missouri, at the age of sixty-six years, ten months, and six days.
On August 28, 1983, he was united in marriage to Margie Ellen Henderson, and they shared the last thirty-two years.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a grandson, Preston.
Jerry is survived by his wife, Margie, of the home; a daughter Melinda Prock, of Lebanon, Missouri; a son, Michael Prock, of Lebanon, Missouri; a special cousin, whom Jerry thought of like a daughter, Lori McDaniel, of the State of Oklahoma; five grandchildren, Logan, Austin, Reese, Cody, and Emma; two brothers, Paul Prock, and his wife, Melanie, of Grovespring, Missouri, John Prock, of Springfield, Missouri; two sisters, Doris Cantrell, and her husband, Dan, and Jo Ann Kramer, and her husband, Pat, all of Springfield, Missouri; two sisters-in-law, Mary Lou Watt, and her husband, Don, of Schertz, Texas, and Melba Sharp, and her husband, Floyd, of Buffalo, Missouri; a number of nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
He was born and raised in Wright County, Missouri, and graduated from Hartville High School. He was employed at Detroit Tool Engineering Company in Lebanon for forty-five years. After he and Margie were married, they made their home near Phillipsburg, Missouri.
Jerry was a member of Shaddy Chapel Church of Christ near Grovespring, Missouri.
He loved old cars and had purchased a 1969 Camero when it was new and enjoyed driving it and taking it to car shows. He belonged to the Rusty Bones Car Club and enjoyed going to cars shows, where he thought of those friends as family. He also liked making trips to Branson and to Silver Dollar City. He was a very friendly person and had lots of friends. His family was very important to him and he loved them all.
Jerry was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate his life and know that his family and friends will treasure the wonderful memories he made for them during his lifetime.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Lebanon Technology and Career Center, or the American Diabetes Association, and left at the funeral home.
