Janie Younger Brewer, 84, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, July 23 2025.
She was born in Rockingham to the late John Osborne Younger, Sr. and Mary Ward Younger.
Janie was married for 40 years to her husband, James Brewer who survives.
Janie owned Hair Works in Gibsonville for many years and loved her many customers. She was a member of Crossway Church and enjoyed serving the Lord and helping others. Janie and her husband created many memories taking cruises to various destinations. Janie loved interior decorating, shopping, working puzzles and reading. She was devoted to her family and will be greatly missed.
She is survived by her husband, James Brewer of the home; Step Sons, Kevin Brewer of Climax and Jamie Brewer and wife, Tina of Rural Hall; step daughter, Tracy Parker and husband, Mike of Gibsonville; grandchildren, Melissa Toney Starsiak, Karaline McKinney, Kasadey Brewer, Matthew Brewer, Jacob Brewer and Stephen Parker and 5 great grandchildren; sisters, Betty Younger Smith and Debra Sloop and husband, Wayne all of Gibsonville; brothers, Charles Younger and wife, Carolyn of Raleigh and Wayne Younger of Gibsonville.
She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Betsy Edwards Wyatt; granddaughter, Misty Toney and her siblings, Anne Campbell, John Younger, Jr., Roy Lee Younger, Norma Younger Wasko and Linda Younger Huey.
A service to celebrate her life will be held at 3:00 PM Saturday, August 9, 2025 at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Darrell Gains. The family will receive friends from 1:30-2:45pm prior to the service at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to Crossway Church, 3647 Altamahaw Church Street, Elon, NC 27244.
