Capt. V. H. "Lindy" Shepherd

BURLINGTON - Capt. V. H. "Lindy" Shepherd, 62, of 4251 N.E. 24th Ave., Light House Point, Fla., died Wednesday, Oct. 12, 1994.

Graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 16 at Magnolia Cemetery, Elon College, conducted by the Rev. Benny Vickrey.

Capt. Shepherd was a native of Alamance County, son of the late Verdy Hayes Shepherd Sr. and Allie Christopher Shepherd. He was a pilot for Piedmont Airlines for 27 years and retired as a pilot for U.S. Air in 1992. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Liberty.

Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Grace Dudleck Shepherd of the home; one sister, Mrs. June (Haldon) Smith of Liberty; one nephew, Randy Smith of Liberty.

Capt. Shepherd will remain at Lowe Funeral Home until carried to the cemetery for the service. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7-9 tonight, other times at the home of Mr. and Mrs. George Dudleck, 1921 Trail Five, Burlington.
